This is great! The modern market does a good job (perhaps too good) of producing things that evoke pleasant comfort and familiarity in consumer goods – and l love the way that you’ve tucked that into this tanka so cleverly, that the lighthearted appeal of this piece is maintained.

hey, thanks, wendy and jenny. I literally may have been dreaming about a forest, though I wrote this 7 years ago and can't remember for sure.p.s. I realize the trees pictured above aren't pines. perhaps I should have said spruce or fir (though that would have been a lot of f's).
