The slow reentry
Our cruise vacation in May 2014 from Boston to Quebec City (or rather, the return home from our vacation) spawned this tanka: the slow reentry after a week's vacation travel clothes still neatly folded inside our suitcases —tinywords, March 25, 2015
Could have been my suitcase. I always pack more than I use.

I like how this captures the feeling of dislocation one experiences on reentry into the 'real' world after being 'away.'
ReplyDeleteUnpacking those suitcases is hard ... the act: the final acknowledgment that the vacation is truly at an end, and it's back to the old grind.
