More timid

more timid
about the cold water
in this lagoon
than mingling with stingrays,
velvet against my skin

  1. An intriguing observation about what we do/do not fear--and a great photo, too!

  2. Ha! I think we are primordially programmed to avoid cold water. Let's face it, cold water will - eventually - kill you if you're forced to stay in it. Though, I suspect, people who have been stung by a stingray would probably say that avoiding them quickly takes priority over water temperature.
