roses removed,
rock garden replaced

Here I am again. I didn't drop off the face of the earth!
P.S. This tanka is about the house we used to live in, in England, when I was 10–15. Walked down the street it's on when we visited last year.

A very relatable tanka for anyone who has ever seen an old home changed beyond recognition by new inhabitants!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny and Peggy!
ReplyDeleteI have had similar ruminations. I always feel that the changes are never for the better - but perhaps that is part of becoming so attached and somewhat vested in the houses we live in. They are, after all, our sanctuaries.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you back to blogging, Janet.
thanks, wendy!
