From my mother

from my mother
the wisdom in saving
scraps of cloth ...
inevitable,
the patching to be done

—red lights, January 2014

EEK. I finally realized I'd already posted this one a few months ago. Why didn't you all tell me, LOL?

  1. Yes, patching is inevitable. A wise and wistful allegory.

  2. thanks, wendy. she still has that "rag bag" that I liked pawing through - scraps of just about everything she ever sewed. yes, seems we're always trying to patch something or someone.

  3. There's so much in this tanka.

I, too, save those scraps of material. Although I don't do as much sewing as I did I still have scraps from the baby crib sets I made my grandchildren 18 years ago.

By the way, Janet, shouldn't the next issue of Ribbons have been sent? Or am I expecting it too soon?
